“Typically, a tabletop can be constructed using planks oriented either lengthwise or widthwise. When planks are used lengthwise, the size of the tabletop is limited by the size of the tree. Conversely, a tabletop assembled widthwise has the advantage of being unlimited in length: theoretically, you can extend the planks indefinitely and create a very long table. To support the very long tabletop of this table, I use two metal beams (available in any length). The tabletop can be attached to the metal beams with two bolts. Two trestles serve as the table legs: they can be placed at the end of the table or further towards the center, according to preference.” – Dirk Meylaerts
