Milton Avery ( 1885 – 1965 ) is a non traditional American Modern painter. While clearly representational, Avery’s work is seminal to American Abstract Painting as it focuses on color relations and is not concerned with creating the illusion of depth. Often thought of as The American ” Matisse ” because of his colorful, imaginative, and poetic bold creative use of drawing and color, that set him apart from other painters of his era. Art works by Avery are included in the collections of many of the world’s most prestigious museums.

The rare out of print framed Modernist poster measures 35 1/8″ W X 29″ H X 1 1/2″ D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern matte eggshell finish charcoal gray museum box style wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent ” like new ” condition. The poster print is in excellent ” like new ” clean vintage condition consistent with age, very light signs of handling, and very light minor wear.
