This gorgeous set of 10 19th century cabinet plates features harlequin, multi-color grounds with botanical motifs. Each plate is uniquely painted with a different botanical specimen. The central image is a larger example of the flower and the well is painted with smaller detailed specimens encircling the plate. The shaped rims are pierced and embellished with hand painted flowers, and each plate is bordered in gold leaf. This set is a masterpiece in technique, variety and execution.
